More singing is happening on BBC Two from 6.40pm as the annual Carols from King’s concert sees the Rev Dr Stephen Cherry lead a service of music, readings and prayer. They’re in Salzburg to perform their own renditions of the soundtrack against the beautiful mountainous backdrop, from “Climb Every Mountain” to “My Favourite Things”. Speaking of The Sound of Music, the modern-day British equivalent of the von Trapps, the Kanneh-Masons, are following in the footsteps of the musical family in The Hills Are Alive with the Kanneh-Masons (5.40pm, BBC One). If you’re in the mood for more classic (read: musical) movies, White Christmas is on BBC Two at 1pm while at 2.50pm, BBC One is heading to the Austrian alps in The Sound of Music.
